The former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari has said that God has vindicated him over alleged accusations that he had a hand in the killings of people of the state by bandits during his tenur
e.
The former governor said, “I’m neither celebrating what is currently happening nor am I happy with the sad development in our state but l must draw the attention of the mischief-makers that no right thinking leader will partake in the killings or arrange the killing of his people “.Yari further stressed that he had never directly or indirectly associated himself with the bandits.
He maintained that he officially called on his successor, Alhaji Bello Matawalle during his handing-over speech at Government House to take positive steps in the fight against armed banditry so that he too would not be accused of conniving with the bandits. The former governor said his party the All Progressives Congress was ever ready to give the new Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the state a very strong but healthy opposition aimed at moving the state forward.
