The Zamfara State Government has denied sacking 1,700 civil servants, describing the news as malicious, baseless and unfounded.

Nakwada further stated that the state government decided only to reverse the appointment of 14 permanent secretaries made by the immediate past administration of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle shortly after the gubernatorial election in the state. He assured the union leaders that the present government in the state is working tirelessly to ensure that civil servants are paid their three months’ salary arrears.

Earlier, the NLC Chairman in the state, Comrade Sani Halilu said they were at the SSG’s office to formally congratulate him on his appointment and to further open ways of mutual cooperation between the new administration and the union.
