No fewer than 20 political parties in Zamfara State have sued the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its refusal to issue Certificates of Return to the governor-elect and members-elect of the state House of Assembly.
The suit was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja on Tuesday by Ebenezer Adabaki, on behalf of the plaintiffs.
They said this was with regards to them having been duly declared winners of the governorship and State Assembly elections held on March 9. “A declaration that INEC having pronounced in favour of the plaintiffs that they have satisfied all the requirements of the law and declared winners of the election, has a duty to issue them with the certificates of return.
