Shinkafi, who recently survived an attack he attributes to party members, criticized the imposition of candidates in elections and the lack of action against bandit leader Bello Turji. He warned that such practices are no longer acceptable and could lead to further losses for the APC.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC , in Zamfara State, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, to intervene in what he described as the deteriorating state of the APC in Zamfara . Dr. Shinkafi, who survived an assassination attempt last Friday, warned that the imposition of candidates in elections would no longer be tolerated in the state.
Dr. Shinkafi, a former gubernatorial candidate, expressed deep concern over the state of the APC in Zamfara. He attributed the party’s losses in the 2019 and 2023 elections to the imposition of candidates, warning that such practice would no longer be accepted by stakeholders and the electorate. “We all saw how APC lost Zamfara in 2019 and 2023 due to the imposition of candidates. This will not happen again,” he declared.
