The Ekiti Youth Home Based (EYHB) has requested for the declaration of an Afe Babalola Day in Ekiti State to honor his heroic deeds and contributions to the state's growth and development.
The youth, under the aegis of Ekiti Youth Home Based , said the request became necessary in view of Babalola’s heroic deeds and immense contributions to the growth and development of Ekiti State .
This came barely a week after a former Presidential Adviser and Ekiti Central senator in the last political dispensation, Babafemi Ojudu, also canvassed the same position.Ojudu, a renowned journalist and politician, had said Babalola’s extraordinary life and contributions to the development of the legal jurisprudence, education, agriculture and other sectors, made a compelling case for Ekiti State to declare an Afe Babalola Day, to honour him.
The group, in a statement in Ado-Ekiti by its convener, Mr. Ademola Adedayo, said Babalola deserved to be honoured with such a special day, considering the good name, as well as reputation he had continually brought to Ekiti in years past.
