Benue State Governor Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia has urged the newly sworn-in appointees
not to take their appointment as political patronage because their sustainability on the job will depend on productivity and capability in the discharge of their duties
The governor who disclosed this during the swearing-in ceremony of commissioners and special advisers also warned them against depriving Benue citizens of dividends of democracy through their stinginess. While congratulating them, the governor enjoined the newly sworn appointees to work assiduously to ensure that the trust and faith reposed in them are not displaced in order not to betray the confidence reposed in them
“Benue people have placed so much trust in you, and I am urging you all not to disappoint them, You should be a champion of progress strive to create positive change and be generous in dealing with the people,” the governor said. He warned those in the habit of peddling rumour to tarnish the name of personalities and the government of the State to always check their facts before making it public, adding that “whatever you do to falsely portray the State in bad light will not be taken for granted.
