The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the last 2023 general election in Ebonyi State, Splendour Oko Eze has disowned Prince Aja Nwabueze Igwe, who claims to be the deputy governorship candidate of the party.
DAILY POST reports that Prince Aja Nwabueze Igwe, a former commissioner in Ebonyi State, had recently in a statement claimed to be the deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the last general election. Igwe, in the said statement, announced his resignation from the Labour Party, announcing his intentions to join the All Progressives Congress, APC. According to Igwe, the resignation came after due consultation with critical stakeholders, political associates, families and supporters.
Eze made the claims in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki capital of Ebonyi State. He disowned Nwabueze Igwe and called on the general public and members of the Labour Party in the state to disregard his claims of being a former deputy governorship candidate of the party in the last general election.
