Xenophobia: Massive security around Lagos malls, MTN headquarters

DAILY POST reports that men of the Nigeria Police are protecting Novare Mall at Sangotedo, Circle Mall at Jakande near Osapa London, Maryland Mall, Shoprite in Surulere and Ikeja City Mall.Our correspondent who went round town between 9pm and 11pm noticed heavy reinforcement.At Jakande, a police pickup truck and another sports utility vehicle burned by protesters were seen.Meanwhile, the federal government has appealed to Nigerians to stop retaliation.
On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed “deep concern,” over the attacks on Nigerian citizens and property. He instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, to summon the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria and get a brief on the situation.The envoy is “expected to arrive in Pretoria latest Thursday, September 5, 2019”, the presidency said in a statement.
