We will get some midweek snow, but less than 5cm is likely over an entire day
For early January, we'd typically see overnight lows in the minus teens with daytime highs several degrees below freezing. However, most of this coming working week will be nearly five degrees above those values.
. This week's bigger weather story could be a winter storm that takes aim at Southern Ontario on Friday. Fortunately, the Sault region should miss that storm as it passes well to our south. Cloud cover Monday morning should give way to some late-day sun as daytime highs reach -1°C. A north wind will bring windchill values near -5.
The cloud cover returns on Tuesday and cooler air will move back into the region with temperatures near -4°C. Light snow begins overnight and continues into Wednesday. We will see 3-5cm of light snow throughout the day on Wednesday, with daytime highs near the freezing mark. We should see the sun return Thursday afternoon, with temperatures close to freezing. More sun is likely on Friday, but a north wind will drop daytime highs to near -5°C.
