The Workers’ Right Campaign (WRC) has welcomed the decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to embark on a nationwide mass protest against the anti-poor and anti-workers policies of this government. The group said it fully supports the mass action.

Workers’ Rights Campaign Calls For Full Return Of Petrol Subsidy, N200,000 Minimum Wage Ahead Of Nationwide Protest In NigeriaThe Workers’ Right Campaign has welcomed the decision of the National Executive Committee of the Nigeria Labour Congress to embark on a nationwide mass protest against the anti-poor and anti-workers policies of this government.

The WRC also called on the government to “stop increases in electricity tariff” while saying “no to crazy bills”.It called for free trade zones, adding that “their owners must obey the rule of employment relationship as its affects workers”. The statement further read, “WRC firmly asserts that working people in Nigeria people have been traumatized in the face of an avalanche of neo-liberal policies, such as the sharp increases in the price of petrol and the backdoor increase in electricity tariff which have reduced the purchasing power of the Nigeria worker to little or nothing.
