A former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives has said that the people of Rivers State are tired of oppression and dictatorship from individuals who are expected to serve them.
He said, “What it portends is that Rivers people are tired of oppression, Rivers people are tired of emperorship, Rivers people are tired of dictatorship.' According to Okpara, the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara defied all odds to ensure that the LG polls were held successfully in the state despite withdrawals by the PDP and APC from the election.
