We can't help Okorocha, period - APC
The party could not make a U-turn to help Okorocha secure his certificate of return; rather it stated that it cannot help him pending the time his suspension ends.
Okorocha was suspended along with the governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun over anti-party activities. Both governors are supporting different candidates for the governorship election in their states.Okorocha, backed his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu who contested for Imo governorship election under the platform of Action Alliance and lost.
Amosun, on the other hand supported the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Abdulkadir Akinlade, for the just concluded governorship election. However, as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, presented certificate of returns to winners of the governorship and house of assembly elections, Rochas Okorocha was not given.
Reacting to his non issuance of the certificate, APC National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Isa-Onilu, said in a Press conference in Abuja, that “We cannot take any position on that now. Governor Okorocha is on suspension. He, too, has not reported the case to us because he knows he is on suspension.
