The Independent National Electoral Commission has withheld the certificates of return of four members-elect of the Delta State House of Assembly. The National Commissioner of INEC, Dr.
Mohammed Lecky, noted that the certificates were withheld because of “pending legal matters.”
Lecky spoke during the presentation of Certificate of Return to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa; and his deputy, Kingsley Otuaro, who had been declared winners of the state’s 2019 governorship election held on March 9. According to the INEC commissioner, the members-elect affected are from: Ethiope East constituency, Ugheli North One state constituency, Ugheli North Two state constituency, of the All Progressives Congress; and Ukwuani state constituency of the People Democratic Party.
