Constitutional Lawyer and Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption , Prof. Itse Sagay, has said the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria , Godwin Emefiele, may be a mole from opponents of the All Progressives Congress .

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Sagay who criticised the CBN chief for the Naira redesign, said the banker is trying to create hatred for the ruling APC.Daily Independent“I don’t understand why he should bring this policy at this time when we are just few days to the general election. “I don’t understand why this government should accept such a recommendation which is most unfavourable to them and their political chances in the forthcoming elections. For me, the whole thing is a disaster.”The absence of the Governor of the apex bank came to light in December when he failed to show up to explain the reason behind the naira redesign and cash withdrawal limits.Emefiele is rumoured to be wanted by the Department of State Services for alleged terrorism funding and economic crimes.

People have speculated that his absence in the country is linked to his supposed evasion from the DSS, while some believe he is back in Nigeria.
