The World Health Organization (WHO) has introduced the Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative in Nigeria, aiming to reduce cervical cancer cases to fewer than four per 100,000 women. The initiative focuses on vaccination, screening, and treatment to achieve elimination by the end of the century.

The fight against cervical cancer has been bolstered with the launch of the Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative by the World Health Organization (WHO). This initiative aims to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer to fewer than four cases per 100,000 women in Nigeria . The roadmap includes vaccinating 90% of girls aged 9–14 against HPV, screening 70% of women aged 35 and 45, and treating 90% of women with cervical pre-invasive and invasive lesions.
