The most widely read newspaper in Nigeria

the last few weeks in Nigeria, we have seen the devastating effects of global warming and man-made errors combining forces to destroy entire swathes of the countryside. From the middle belt states of Taraba, Benue, Plateau and Kogi down the River Niger to the Niger Delta states of Bayelsa and Rivers, the overwhelming destruction wrought by flooding has simply provoked much human anger and helplessness.

But now, it appears that the most obvious part of these problems may be ending and we must have to turn to a challenging new phase which is the aspect that will have to deal with the consequences of having so much stagnant water on ordinary streets in our communities. First, there is going to be a spike in the outbreak of malaria as the environmental catastrophe staring us in the face provides the ideal breeding environment craved by the anopheles mosquito.

Besides malaria, diarrhoea and vomiting, these events are likely also to bring human beings in those communities into direct confrontation with animals of various kinds ranging from snakes to crocodiles. Livestock stranded due to the floods are more likely to invade and ravage domestic food supplies and increase tensions even in areas that have not yet seen some of the bad effects of the herder/farmer crises.

Good day to you as well. Yes, my family and I are well; thank you. In the first place, the more likely reason why you experience a tingling sensation and numbness presumably in your hands and feet is likely due to diabetes, not the medication you are taking. Diabetes notoriously causes long-term damage to the peripheral nerves and that is the reason why you have those sensations. You do not need a change in the medication you have been using which has worked so well for you.
