Niger State Government says thirty-one out of fifty-six boarding Schools across the state are currently not fully operational due to insecurity that
The Commissioner for Education in the state, Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu who made the disclosure while briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting in Minna, said with the closure, only 25 boarding schools are still operational.
She said, “We have 56 boarding schools in Niger state. We had to shut down 10 boarding schools and deboarded some of them. The ones that were totally shut down are those in the high-risk areas.” The students in the affected schools, the commissioner explained, have been directed to look for alternative schools to attend particularly the Senior Secondary, SS3 students who need to write their final examinations.
