Internet traffic reaching unprecedented levels during pandemic, report finds

TORONTO -- Global internet usage has increased substantially during the COVID-19 pandemic, with users around the world going online more than ever to watch videos and use social media, according to a new Canadian report.found that overall internet traffic grew by more than 40 per cent between Feb.
Among video platforms, YouTube has been the clear winner of the pandemic era, traffic-wise. Sandvine found that its share of global internet traffic rose from less than nine per cent in 2019 to nearly 16 per cent this year.
