Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, says his squad is fully focused on their 2023 World Cup opener against Canada on Friday, PUNCH Sports Extra report.

“I think the expectation is to get out of the group, that hasn’t changed. One thing I know is that the players have given us everything in the past days and we will continue to do that until Friday. We will be proud and make you all proud as well.”

The Canadians have managed only one win, one draw and three losses in their last five games as against the Falcons’ three wins and two defeats in their last five matches. This year’s World Cup is Waldrum’s second major competition with the Falcons, after he led the team to fourth place at the Women’s African Cup of Nations last year.

The Falcons will also face Australia July 27, before their final group game against Republic of Ireland July 31.All rights reserved.
