Federal Government through the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has declined recognition of both the Agriculture and Allied Employees Union of Nigeria, AAEUN, and the Agriculture and Allied Workers Union, AAWUN, factions as unions in the Agriculture sector.Consequently, the Ministry has withdrawn the Certificate of Registration Reg. No. 0112 issued to Agricultural and Allied Employees Union of Nigeria, AAEUN.
In a letter dated January 31, 2019, by Mrs O.U, Akpan, Director, Trade Union Services and Industrial Relations Department, on behalf of the Minister of Labour and Employment, the government said the withdrawal was in compliance with court order in respect to APP.NO. CA/L92/10 SUIT NO.FHC/L/CS/311/2009.
