The Vice-Chancellor, Caleb University Imota, Lagos, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, has encouraged higher education institutions to embrace blended learning.

Owens-Ibie, at a media parley, said the education sector had no choice but to embrace blended learning in the face of the global pandemic which had restricted physical learning.

“Since April, the university resumed online and we are planning to have our graduation online in September. E-learning is here to stay; it will be blended learning, brick and mortar. He explained that CUL was being run on a template which they did not prepare for but they made good use of the opportunities the online system presented.

“Those who paid their school and accommodation fees during the lockdown will get a refund. We sent the bill in anticipation of resumption and we sent a message immediately about the refund when we noticed resumption would be delayed,” said Owens-Ibie.
