The Benue State Boundary Committee appreciates the continued partnership and collaboration of the CHD in ensuring that workable
solutions to the numerous land disputes and conflicts challenges that face our state are being achieved.
“I, therefore, encourage the border communities of Konshisha and Oju local government areas to engage in exchange of royal visits, cross-cultural and cross-border economic activities to pave the way for peaceful coexistence among them,” the governor stated. In his remarks, the Country Manager, Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, Dr Chris Agoha, said the agreement fell squarely into the aspiration of the communities for total peace and development for all, especially the hundreds of vulnerable populations who have suffered the negative impact of the crisis and had been deprived of their common heritage.
In a keynote address, a former Vice Chancellor of the Benue State University, Prof. Charity Angya, charged the Benue State Government to operationalise the Peace and Reconciliatory Commission to engender peace and development in the state, while commending CHD for the peace initiative between the two communities.
The Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty, Prof. James Ayatse, and the Och’Idoma, HRM John Odogbo, promised that the agreement would be executed to the latter and commended the Benue State Government for the cooperation accorded CHD in entrenching peace in the state. All rights reserved.
