Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the refineries at Kaduna, Warri, and Port Harcourt will be functional, the Downstream Committee of the Nigerian Senate has announced.Senator Jide Ipinsagba, the Vice Chairman of the Committee, made the disclosure during an on-the-spot assessment of the refineries. He said the country's three government-owned refineries will become fully operational before January 2025.

Furthermore, the Dangote refinery in Lagos State is set to begin refining Premium Motor Spirit , also known as petrol, soon. The committee is optimistic that the refined petroleum products will meet internal consumption demands and be exported thereafter.'We have conducted thorough oversight of all the refineries, and we are pleased with the progress made,' Senator Ipinsagba stated.
