KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan has called for improvement in Sabah’s security system, especially in the east coast.

Its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said more assets and manpower are needed in manning high-risk areas.

He said the presence of the military will help tighten security and complement the work of the Eastern Sabah Security Command to fortify the coastal borders. He said this to reporters after opening the Kota Belud party division annual general meeting on Saturday . "They don't even possess any territory so they can't make any claims, they cannot say 'this is my kingdom' when the Philippines government themselves do not recognise them. So why do we need to?” said the former chief minister.
