WAEC: Alumni rewards teachers with N1.5m for students’ performance

He added that old students of the school would do more to encourage the teachers if they can keep working hard for the students to get better results.

He said: “The 1969/1973 sets are celebrating their 50th anniversary and they decided to put paving stones from the main entrance of the gate down to the school building. “In previous years, we discovered that our students have not been doing well unlike in the past when we excel in academics, sports and various kinds of endeavours. When we saw that the students were not doing well, we challenged the teachers. We conducted training on Information and Communications Technology for the teachers and we saw the result of the training.

“Ninety-six per cent of our students have 5 credits during the last West African Examinations Council and we rewarded all the teachers including non-academic staff with the sum of N1.5m. We also told them that the more the percentage keeps increasing, the further we will give them more money.”All rights reserved.
