Those killed in the attack included Inspector Mark Ediale, 36, Sgt. Dahiru Musa, 40, Owolabi Babajide, 24, Farouk Bashir, 30, and Usman Danazumi, 44. Among the 20 defendants charged by the IGP, the 10 soldiers including Captain Balarabe were named as the 2nd to the 11th defendants.reports that the court order was issued by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja on March 16, 2020, compelling Buratai to produce the soldiers in court for arraignment.

He added, “He has shown to Nigerians that the soldiers are above the law. The AGF said he would bring them when they are available. That means if they are not available, the court will wait for them to be available. That is a reckless statement, a disobedience to court order and a threat to judicial authority.”

“If you look at this matter, it is more or less a civil crime. If the court has given an order, whether you are the Army Chief of Staff or the President, you are obliged to obey the court order.”
