Vice President Kashim Shettima has concluded a successful series of engagements at the 2025 World Economic Forum ( WEF ) in Davos , Switzerland. Representing Nigeria at the global summit, VP Shettima actively showcased the country's investment potential to a worldwide audience and championed African economic integration.
At a forum dedicated to 'Roadmap to Co-create Investment Opportunities for Africa's Frontier Markets,' organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and WEF, VP Shettima underscored Nigeria's dedication to attracting investments that propel sustainable growth. Throughout his participation, VP Shettima engaged in numerous bilateral meetings with prominent world leaders, including President Duma Boko of Botswana and President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa. These discussions focused on strengthening intra-African relations and fostering mutually beneficial trade partnerships.Furthermore, VP Shettima held crucial conversations with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum, addressing key challenges confronting Africa, such as energy security, food crises, and environmental threats. He also emphasized the importance of innovation in education and agriculture to empower Nigeria's youth and drive economic progress. Accompanying VP Shettima were high-ranking government officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and Aisha Rimi, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC). Upon his return to Nigeria, VP Shettima was warmly welcomed by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, and other government officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport
