Voters turnout may increase – Report

A survey by SBM Intelligence has revealed that voters turnout is likely to rise in the 2023 general elections.

A breakdown of the figure showed that 53 per cent are based in rural areas, while 47 per cent are in urban areas.

Ninety per cent of the respondents said they had tried to pick up their Permanent Voter Cards; 79 per cent successfully picked up theirs while 24 per cent said they encountered violence while trying to pick up their PVCs. Of the people captured in the survey, 42 per cent are first-time registrants while 58 per cent requested that their PCs be transferred to various locations.

On the number of times they visited INEC offices before they could get their PVCs, 23 per cent said three times; 30 per cent said once; 30 per cent said twice; nine per cent said four times; two per cent went there five times; and six per cent went more than five times.All rights reserved.
