The Embassy of Switzerland in Nigeria has cautioned Nigerians against falling prey to visa racketeers, saying the Swiss visa for Nigerians cost only N50,000.
The Swiss Embassy Migration Adviser, Ms Jolands Pfister Herren, who disclosed this in Benin, advised Nigerians that it was better to visit the embassy to get answers to their questions than allowing anyone to do it for them.
Herren also cautioned Nigerians against falling prey to human traffickers or embarking on irregular migration. Speaking at a two-day stakeholders’ consultation to combat and prevent human trafficking in Edo State tagged, ‘Community Action to Combat Human Trafficking,’ Herren said the Swiss-funded project being implemented by the Women Aid Collective was aimed at facilitating greater networking among stakeholders and to institutionalise early warning systems to prevent human trafficking and irregular migration.
Executive Director, WACOL, Prof Joy Ezeilo, said the group was committed to ensuring safe migration options and safety measures to combat human trafficking and unsafe migration. The Benin Zonal Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons stressed the need to institutionalise early warning mechanism to prevent human trafficking at the community and grass roots level in Edo State. All rights reserved.
