Nigeria's independent online newspaper
Victor Boniface, Super Eagles striker, has been named the best rookie in Germany’s Bundesliga for the month of September.The 22-year-old had also won the award, which recognises the best-performing young talent in the league, for the month of August.
Boniface defeated Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig and TSG Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier to claim the September honour.He was adjudged the winner by 40 percent of the vote from fans and 30 percent each from the 18 Bundesliga team captains and a panel of pundits. Boniface, who joined Bayer Leverkusen last July, netted two goals and provided three assists in just four appearances for the club in the league throughout September.Advertisement
