THE Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State, said it had partnered Onose Deep Oil and Gas Limited in the area of modular refinery technology transfer.
The firm’s 20,000 bpd capacity modular refinery is located at Omavovwe in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Specifically, the students are expected to spend time at the ODOGL factory during their four-year period in the university. Vice Chancellor of FUPRE, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, while explaining the purpose of the collaboration to, explained that “it is mainly for the promotion of local content development in the petroleum industry as contained in the Nigeria Local Content Act, which was signed into law by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2010.
“The overall strategy is for the students to acquire relevant practical skills to deepen value chain in the industry and achieve sustainable growth academically. The students shall frequently do stints at the ODOGL factory during their four-year period in the university.
