midfielder Izunna Uzochukwu has agreed a deal to join Finnish club Honka FC till the end of the season,Uzochukwu, who is a free agent, has been without a club since he terminated his contract with Norwegian side Aalesund last summer.
The 31-year-old will sign a one-year deal with the eighth-place team in the Finnish top division with an option of another.“It’s a dream come true for me, I must say, joining Honka FC. It was difficult for me not playing,” Uzochukwu told“I’m very glad to have joined such a prestigious club as Honka FC; I can’t wait to take to the pitch.
“I think Honka FC has been growing well over the last few years, thanks to the club management and the coach. It is the outcome of the hard work of many people, you have to work hard to get these results and I want to help them achieve their dreams this season and beyond.”Honka gained promotion to the elite division for the first time in their history in 2005.
Uzochukwu helped FC Midtjylland win the Danish title in 2015- a form which saw him sign for Amkar Perm in the Russian topflight the following season. Capped once by Nigeria, Uzochukwu also featured for Chinese Super League 2 side Meizhou Hakka, OB Odense and Aalesund.All rights reserved.
