Antony Blinken, US secretary of state, had said the ban was a show of commitment to strengthening democracy in Nigeria.had reported that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party , backed the US action. Mohammed said Buhari has given unprecedented support to INEC, adding that the scorecard series is another indication of the administration’s determination to leave office on May 29.“As a government, we are proud to say that no administration since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999, has shown more fidelity to the democratic process than ours,” he said.
