UPDATED: Explosion averted as petrol tanker spills content on Niger bridge

Fire explosion was on Wednesday averted in Onitsha Anambra State when a fuel tanker crashed on top of the River Niger bridge, spilling its contents on the highway.

The accident which occurred between Delta and Anambra states boundary axis of the bridge, involved the articulated vehicle with two persons on board.

The vehicle reportedly hit the edge of the bridge and hung on its protective side rail, preventing it from plunging into the river. He said, “At about 8.30am today Wednesday 6 May 2020, a Mack Truck with the registration number NKR41XA laden with fuel crashed at the border between Delta and Anambra State.
