The student, whose name was given as Chinwendu Odoh from Enugu Ezike, Igbo eze north local council was said to have taking a substance suspected to be Snipper insecticide, but was rushed to the hospital by residents before much harm could come upon her.
Enugu Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident said the 200-level student in the Microbiology department, may be reacting to depression over a long held issue. Amaraizu stated that she was promptly rushed to the Royal Cross Hospital Nsukka where she was being revived, adding that investigations have started on the matter. He said the student was responding to treatment.
