In a statement on his X account Wednesday morning, Zelenskyy praised Trump ’s 'peace through strength' approach, which he believes could advance a “just peace” in Ukraine. 'Congratulations to @realDonald Trump on his impressive election victory!” Zelenskyy wrote, recalling a previous meeting in September where they discussed the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and strategies to end Russian aggression.
Zelenskyy conveyed optimism that Trump’s leadership would foster bipartisan support for Ukraine and advance peace in Europe. Zelenskyy added, 'Ukraine, as one of Europe's strongest military powers, is committed to ensuring long-term peace and security in Europe and the Transatlantic community with the support of our allies.
