Former Premier League stars, Joleon Lescott and Rio Ferdinand have heaped praises on Cole Palmer as Manchester City defeated Sevilla in Wednesday’s UEFA
Lescott described Palmer as ‘an exceptional talent’ after the youngster found the net for Manchester City in their Super Cup success against Sevilla.
Recall that Man City defeated Sevilla 5-4 via penalty shoot-out to lift the UEFA Super Cup following a 1-1 draw. Speaking on TNT Sports, Lescott said: ‘There are going to be opportunities when he [Palmer] needs to learn about failing and coming through that adversity and becoming a top professional to match his ability because once he moves those two things together there will be no stopping him because he is an exceptional talent.”
On his part, Ferdinand praised Palmer’s confidence, saying: “One thing he is not short of is confidence. He has a relaxed approach to the game that only certain individuals can do and he is doing it at the top level at a club that is competing for trophies.”
