Kylian Mbappe was spectacular as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) got a second-half winner to overcome Juventus 2-1 in their final UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage encounter at the Olympic Stadium
The 23-year-old Mbappe was the pick of an average PSG display with a goal and assist that handed the Parisiens a crucial win that confirmed their status as Group H winners.Mbappe handed PSG the lead 13 minutes into the encounter with a clinical strike from the edge of the box.The visitors could not take their lead into the interval as Juventus restored parity six minutes before halftime, with Leonardo Bonucci pouncing on Juan Cuadrado’s header to finish from close range.
Mbappe would provide the matchwinner to Nuno Mendes a minute after the wingback came on as a substitute. Juventus saw a late goal disallowed for offside as the Old Lady of Turin joined Barcelona as two elite clubs to drop down into the less glamorous Europa League.Elsewhere, Real Madrid, the defending UCL champions, scored two penalties and three second-half goals to blitz past Glasgow Celtic 5-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu in Spain.
Olivier Giroud contributed a brace as AC Milan also claimed a 4-0 win over RB Salzburg, while Manchester City came from a goal down to win 3-1 against Sevilla at the Etihad Stadium.Juventus 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain
