The management of the University of Lagos, in partnership with the United States of America, yesterday, agreed to open a ‘Window on America’ hub on campus, as part of efforts to improve the relationship between Nigeria and the U.S.
Speaking on the groundbreaking agreement, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, Lee Satterfield, said the centre will be open to all, and will offer information about studying in the U.S.
She also praised the university for being a reciprocal host that has welcomed over 30 U.S. Fulbright scholars over the years. Stressing that Nigeria’s creative industry has really grown in the last few years, becoming a force to be reckoned with in not just Africa, but all over the world, she added that the U.S. government is supporting Nigeria’s creative industries, because they offer economic opportunities for millions of people from Hollywood to Nollywood. Before flagging, please keep in mind that Disqus does not moderate communities.
