DAILY POST reports that goalkeeper Faith Omilana proved her class as the Flamingos sailed into the semi-finals at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup following a 4-3 penalty shootout win against the United States of America at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.The match ended in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes with Omilana making a number of crucial saves to keep the Flamingos in the mix.Reacting, Eguavoen, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, backed the Flamingos to go all the way to the final.
“Massive well done to the girls for a well-deserved victory against one of the best Nations in women’s football. Hats off to Coach Bankole as well,” Eguavoen tweeted.
