Two unidentified Fulani herders have been declared wanted in connection with a rape assault on an 18-year-old girl in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area
They allegedly inflicted bodily harm on the victim, according to a statement by the spokesman of the command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, in Ilorin on Friday.
He said the state Command of the Corps, received a report that one Abdullahi Aisha, 18, of Gamoleji village, Lafiagi, was attacked by two Fulani herdsmen who are now at large. ” In their futile attempt to have carnal knowledge of the lady, they attacked her with cutlass and left her with a deep cut due to her stiff resistance to prevent them from raping her.
” Some people later came to the rescue of the lady while the suspects ran away leaving her in a pool of blood,” he added. Afolabi said two of the suspects’ cows seized by the people who rescued the victim, have been taken into custody by the Seriki Fulani of the community and Dogo Baluji of Miyetti Allah who promised to fish out the perpetrators of the evil act and hand them over to the law enforcement agencies for further action.
