Two suspected cultists, Imasuen Raymond, 32, and Precious Ajayi, 24, were on Saturday arrested by men of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the Edo State Police Command.
According to a statement by the state police spokesman, SP Kontongs Bello, the suspects were arrested by the police during a routine patrol along the Benin-Sepele Road bypass near the Etiosa community of the state. The statement read, “Today, July 24, 2021, around 10.46am, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the Edo State Police Command, while on a township patrol along the Benin-Sepele Road bypass by Etiosa community, intercepted an ash-coloured Lexus 330 SUV with number plate, FUG 571 SB, with two occupants.
“On the spot search conducted on the vehicle led to the recovery of one pump-action gun and some dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. The suspects, Imasuen Raymond, 32, and Precious Ajayi, 24, were subsequently arrested. The suspects also confessed to be members of one of the deadly cults in Benin City. They will soon be charged to court.
