The championship which took place at Chrislands School, Lekki, Lagos, featured participants from five African countries Kenya, Liberia, Ghana, Uganda, and the host country, Nigeria.

In the U-15 category, Prestige Archibong claimed the top honor by winning 16 games and achieving a cumulative score spread of plus 2614. Quodos Aliu secured the second position with 13 wins and a cumulative score spread of plus 1358. Clinton Imode achieved third place among the 88 participants from five countries.

The winners were awarded a total of $9,000 in prize money, alongside valuable gifts including laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Also, in the PANASA President’s Cup, a Nigerian, Godwin Victor, emerged as the champion by defeating former world champion, Wellington Jighere. Victor, who was awarded $5,000 and the Gbenga Ojofeitimi trophy, garnered a cumulative points total of plus 101 in the final, held in Lagos. The President’s Cup attracted participants from Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Uganda, the United States of America, and Nigeria.All rights reserved.
