Two persons have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for armed robbery in Ajuwon, Ifo Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
He stated, “The suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the police at the Ajuwon Division that a three-man robbery gang had stormed the street and shot indiscriminately, thereby throwing the whole street into panic. The PPRO said on sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels, but they were chased by the police and members of the community; two members of the gang, who came on a motorcycle, were apprehended, while the third one escaped with the motorcycle.He added that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to coming to the area for the robbery operation from Ishasi in Lagos State.
