Two officials of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) have been electrocuted in the Obalende area of Lagos.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos police command, confirmed that the incident was reported on Saturday by another member of the electricity company.
Hundeyin identified one of the victims as Umaru, who was said to have been electrocuted while digging to locate a faulty transformer cable at the P&T Obalende area.AdvertisementHundeyin said the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the IDH Morgue, Yaba, for autopsy.“Based on the report, detectives visited and photographed the scene, rescued the victims, and rushed them to the Lagos Island General Hospital where they were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
On March 17, Yusuf Balogun, an employee of Eko Electricity Distribution Company , died after he was electrocuted while carrying out official duties for the electricity company. Balogun died in a hospital after falling from the top of a building and sustaining injuries as a result of the electrocution.that his family, through their legal representatives, are suing EKEDC for N250 million in damages.
