Two persons have lost their lives in an accident involving a car and a motorcycle along Ilesha-Owo Expressway in Akure, Ondo State on Sunday.
The incident which happened inside NNPC mega filling station involved a car with registration number: LAGOS FKJ 280 FF, and a motorcycle with registration number: ONDO LEL 434 WX. The Deputy Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ondo State Command, Olusegun Ogungbemide while speaking with newsmen said the driver of the car managed to escape from the scene.
He further explained that the accident was said to have been caused by a trailer that lost control at top speed. “In a bid to avoid colliding with the trailer, the motorcyclist rammed into a car coming in the opposite direction which led to the death of the motorcyclist and his passenger,” he added.He further appealed to motorists to avoid over-speeding and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before putting them on the road, Channels Tv reports.
