TVET Students Show Higher Employability Rate Than Higher Education Peers

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students show a higher employability rate of 96.5% compared to students from higher education institutions at 88.3%, according to 2023 statistics from Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) institutions. Despite this, there's a slight decline in TVET enrollments this year.

KUALA LUMPUR: Students from Technical and Vocational Education and Training are found to be more employable, with a rate of 96.5%, compared to their peers from higher education institutions.

Rural and Regional Development minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi provided the information in response to Zahari Kechik who asked for the figures regarding the number of students who furthered their studies under Mara. In 2023, the total number for students who enrolled for TVET courses was 78,728, while for 2024, it was 77,004.
