Tuition hike: Student group threatens mass protest
According to the circular entitled, “Approved fees/ charges for Federal Unity Colleges for new students“, signed by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, new students are expected to part with ₦100,000 instead of the previous N45,000.
“University is where every profession that runs the nation is trained and mentored, investing in the origin of every profession should never be a problem for any nation interested in development.

The school increased its tuition from about N20,000 to over N100,000 depending on the course of study. The new tuition ranges from N100,750 to N190,250 depending on whether the course of study requires laboratory or studio work or if the student is in the college of medicine.

UNILAG increases tuition feeAuthorities at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Lagos have increased fees for undergraduate students.A source at the meeting noted that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola said: “it is no longer news that the University of Lagos tuition has not changed in the last 20 years but the cost of managing education has skyrocketed astronomically”.
