Ojoto, a commander of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was neutralised by troops.
Troops have killed a notorious terrorist, Tochukwu, alias Ojoto and two others in a combined operation in Ihiteukwa in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.Ojoto, a commander of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra , was neutralised by personnel of the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps .
The troops encountered members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and the Eastern Security Network who have been using the area as a sanctuary. On sighting troops, the insurgents employed guerrilla tactics, lobbing improvised explosive devices from concealed positions and riddling the roads with booby traps.
“Notably, 2 undetonated IEDs, 6 detonated IEDs and bomb-making materials were captured by the gallant troops,” the statement read.In another operation in Cross River, troops deployed for counterterrorism operations were engaged in a fierce gun battle with a group of suspected kidnappers in Cross River State.
