Troops of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a, in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria , have ambushed dangerously armed bandits in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State. This was made possible after a credible intelligence report indicating the presence of bandits armed with AK-47 rifles on motorcycles along the Kampani-Kombodoro road. According to Zagazola Makama, the sighting occurred at about 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24.

The troops quickly responded with an ambush along the suspected route of the bandits near the Jeb Jeb community. In a fierce gun battle at around 7:30 a.m., the bandits succumbed to superior gun power and fled the area with gunshot wounds, as evident by blood trails along their withdrawal route. A subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle bearing serial number 563635618, two AK-47 magazines, and five rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
